IMPORTANT INFORMATION. CS has finally opened after months of work! Be sure to read our kick ass plot, approved by splat ;] [thanks gurl].
this is where we begin...C.S. INTRODUCTION.
Welcome one and all to City Streets, or more fondly known as CS! Set in the amazing city of New York, this is where the seven deadly sins will be seen more then the common pidgeon or sewer rat. Its dog eat dog down here, and with the Mafia running the show you'll definately have to watch your backs. They have their hands in everything and their spies everywhere. The more famous you get, or the richer you are, the more you become a sitting duck to these people. You have to look after yourself because no one else will. This is the one city that will push you to your limits and beyond...
Every once in a while we'll have new updates here at City Streets, such as improvements. Only staff can post them, and they'll all be found here but it is important you read them. Our staff board is also here.
This is where new members post their application forms to be accepted. If your form isn't complete just put [NF] at the end of the subject title. Only staff members can accept applications. Once they are accepted they'll be moved into the citizen files.
This is where you'll find all the approved application forms. Its a good place to refer too when your trying to come up with a plot, or just want to check out the rest of the citizens here in New York.
This is the only place where you can claim your celebrities for your characters, and anything else that you may need to claim to use such as email addresses and display names for them.
This is where you put up your relationship [or as some call it bios] thread. You can make friends, lovers, and enemies here with just a click of the mouse.
Whether its late at night or early in the morning, this is where you'll find New York's limitless chat rooms. Come and talk to anyone online. A lot of relationships can be made and broken here.
This is where your email account is found. Each email account ends with @citystreets_nyc.org. This is where people will send you emails and you can send one in return. Some people prefer to write in full in these that talk quickly on instant messenger in chat rooms.
This is where calls are made or you can send a quick text. You can even send video messages, or picture messages. A very enjoyable place for the person who's best friend is their mobile phone.
In the midst of the city life and strife, there is one spot that you can come to relax from a hard day. Central Park. It is a huge park that can hold all the people who want to get away from the city, with them still being comfortable and feeling like they have their own little piece of woods. There is even horseback riding trails for the extreme relaxer.
The kind of housing that most city people live in. Apartments are easy to find in New York and they scale all the way from trashy to classy. All that matters is your available budget. The downside to owning an apartment, paying rent.
There are also man pent houses in the city but unless you are filthy rich, don't even bother looking into getting one. These are located at the top of apartment buildings or businesses and are very luxurious.
The biggest, best and most luxurious casino around. You'll definately get your money's worth here! With the worlds complete gambling games, a restaurant, a bar, as well as a strip club inside you definately can't get bored here. Owned by Robert "Romeo" Casanova, this is the hottest spot to be and work.
Considering the city of New York is packed with Mafia and hitmen, it is really hard to find a good family orientated place. This place caters for the normal people. Where families can come and chill out outside in the gardens, and the men can sit inside watching the sport. It's not at all sleezy. Its infact one of the nicest "homiest" places to visit if you need a change of scene from the various nightclubs here.
Othello's is all about atmosphere. The staff is friendly, with the customers, and with each other. It’s not pretentious like some of the places around New York, and as a result, neither are its clientele. With wooden floorboards throughout, comfy couches, low coffee tables, and the smell of coffee brewing, this is the place that people come to just relax, and talk. The décor is simple, and yet there is something inviting about Othello’s. The older generation tends to steer clear of it, as do the immature, and the upper class snobs. Every Friday night, you can see an acoustic set from a local artist, where as every other night, you can just chill out to the low tunes that are always piping through the speakers. Othello’s has a lot of regulars, and all the staff know them by name.
The premier dining experience in New York is Bouley Restaurant. It started out as a smaller venue, but has grown to hold its place among the top restaurants in New York City over the years. It's a favorite of many famous people that are in New York, and you can always find a few here. But if you don't come for the celebs, come for the food. There's a reason Bouley has a reputation for being the best, the food is beyond perfect. Be sure to bring the plastic though, perfection doesn't come cheap. It’s a romantic favorite of many young couples as well.
While the 666 may be the best and hottest club in New York, it's also the hardest to get into. So the alternative has become the DOC. This club is a large one, having four stories with various rooms. It's always beyond crowded, but they let almost anyone in, granted you slip them a twenty, and seem to have no problem when it comes to serving you underage. The dance floor is huge, and they always boast having the best DJ, and mostly they do! If you're looking for a great time without having to losing a kidney, DOC is it.
This little hole in the wall isn't the most fancy of restaurants. It's very low class and low budget, but the food is still good. Ol' Alice herself still stops in from time to time, leaving everyone amazed that this place is still here after 50 years. Business is always pretty good, and it tends to be popular with the younger crowd. If you're in need of a job, Alice's would be the place to get one, the work is easy and the money not too bad. Plus all the pie you can eat. Can it get any better? On the darker side of things, Alice's is also known for having several drug and gang operations centered around it, so you may just want to be careful. Either way, it's a good place with okay food and low prices.
One of the best places to shop around here is Columbus Circle. This place is a collection of every store you would ever want to shop in, and some you wouldn't. It's not really a mall in actuality, but a massive collection of stores, giving off a similar sort of feel. One thing is for sure, whatever you might need you can find it here.
The 666 is the premier night club in New York. It's not the easiest to get in, and only the underage ones with real connections can get in. But hey, it's worth it. This place is lined with stars. Here's where you can catch a glimpse at Jessica Alba, catch up on your gossip and get a great drink. This place is always filled with drama though, so if you can't handle it, don't go in! The 666 is the hot place to be in New York.
This is where all of City Streets members can talk out of character here. You can talk about anything as long as it doesn't break any of our or proboards rules. You can even play games here!
